NY ELIZABETHTOWN — Elizabethtown Town Board approved hiring for multiple town positions and designated an animal shelter partner. The board unanimously hired Jason Hughes and Steven Batten as per diem maintenance workers for Cobble Hill Golf Course, which reported revenues $14,000 to $15,000 ahead of last year at the same period in the fiscal year. The board designated the North Country SPCA as the official recipient of voluntary contributions through dog licensing under a new state requirement.
Supervisor Reusser directed the town to advertise for a Water Superintendent and explore contracted services from Suozzo, Doty & Associates and Morse Coolidge to address certification gaps in the town's drinking water system, which requires 2B certification. The town mourned Henry Galm, a highway department employee of eight years who recently passed away.
